| Hello, my name is Gail Avent and I am a mother of four and the Co-Founder/Executive Director of Total Family Care Coalition; a non-profit organization that is committed to helping families overcome their personal struggles. Life can bring many challenges when raising a family, I know this first hand; I have experienced having a child run away from home, my children and I being involved with child protective services, a child committed to residential treatment, and a child going through the juvenile justice system. I have also endured the pain of knowing that my child survived war during his time in the Air Force, only to be cut down on the violent streets of D.C. However, despite these struggles I am still a proud mother! Right now you may be experiencing your own family challenges; rest assure that you are not alone, TFCC will listen to you in your times of despair, pointing you in the direction of community resources that can ease the discomfort of those challenges, we will partner you with a family advocate who will go to meetings with you, seeing you through your family challenges - so that you are no longer alone. |
