What support does your Family Peer Support Program provide and who takes advantage of it?

TFCC provides one-to-one support to parent, children and youths. We have eight Peer Support Workers (PSWs)who provide in-home support and connect families, children and youths with community resources, promote healthy mental health child development and educating them on how to find services to enhance their quality of life.Their team leader is a Family Involvement Coordinator who works with the PSWs and License Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).  The LCSW provides crisis management and in-home mental assessments. TFCC is the only family run organization in the District of Columbia that provides peer support services in this manner.

What type of funding do you receive?

TFCC receives federal, state and local government funding, as well as fees for services. Charitable contributions from individuals, businesses, foundations, civic groups and churches are a major source of funding for the TFCC and help to close the gap between what is reimbursed and the cost of providing services.

Are fees charged for families who participate in your programs?

No. We provide our services free of charge to families and youths in the District of Columbia.
